Who We Are

Brick Chick Masonry is a woman-owned and operated masonry company, led by Emily Murtoff. Emily was born into a family of tradesmen, with her father being an expert carpenter and general contractor. She first picked up a hammer when she was about five years old and has always been called to building and creating.

However, it wasn’t until 2020 when Emily joined the renovation crew at Midtown Property Management that she seriously considered a career in the trades. Having been unsatisfied with traditional office jobs, Emily felt energized and inspired by the construction industry, eager to learn a bit of everything from drywall to plumbing to electric.

Then, when she first tried masonry, everything just clicked. Emily often jokes that her arm no longer feels complete without a trowel and slicker. Her fascination for the art of brick and stonework led her to train with a local masonry company, serving as their lead mason for two years before starting her own company, Brick Chick Masonry.

It has become her mission to not only provide the highest quality of masonry services to her community, but also to encourage other women and young people to enter the trades. Emily couldn’t be more grateful to have discovered her passion for masonry and to make a living doing what she loves.
